Thomas A. Loureiro – Of Counsel
Thomas A. Loureiro
has worked with Seacoast area tech companies in a variety of in-house roles for nearly twenty years, providing a full range of legal services. Early in his legal career, Tom played a key role in the restructuring of Cabletron Systems and the spin-out of its business units. Following the wind-down of Cabletron, he served as Assistant General Counsel and later Divisional General Counsel to Enterasys Networks, helping guide that company through its transition from a public company, to a private equity-owned venture, and ultimately to a joint venture with Siemens Enterprise Communications. During his time with Enterasys, Tom was involved in all aspects of the business, with a particular focus on intellectual property management and litigation, international law and legal compliance. Tom next served as General Counsel to Bottomline Technologies, managing all aspects of the legal function, with primary responsibility for the company’s very active mergers and acquisitions activities, as well as data privacy, security, and protection.
Most recently, Tom founded Advanced Silicon Technologies, an IP licensing company. After raising start-up funding and negotiating the acquisition of AST’s patent portfolio, Tom ran AST’s licensing program, which generated over $60 million in the company’s first 18 months operations.
